Aug 2008 Congratulations Finalist!
Boys U-10 Team Finishes in Second Place at Oaks Polo Field Classic Tournament, with no subs through all 4 games. This tournament was filled with very solid teams, including 3 silver. The final game was tied 2-2 and they went into PK's, but they ended up losing in the second round of PK's. The team has really worked hard and they have been training just as hard to get this far, we are really proud of them!

LA GALAXY SUPER 20 COMES TO RIVERSIDE MGFM. Come support your Riverside MGFM Super 20 team play a rematch this weekend July 19th, Saturday @ 5:00PM at POLY HIGH SCHOOL against LA GALAXY Super 20. This has been a very good experience for our players to build on for next season even though we have suffered set back after set back in this inaugural season. We saw our roster dwindle game after game for multiple reasons, most beyond our control as we played most of our matches with one or no subs and some matches not even eleven from a roster of 20 players. You certainly cannot survive when you play in such a highly competitive league. We are optimistic that next season will be better and all our home games played in Riverside. Our thanks to POLY HIGH SCHOOL Soccer and administrators for allowing us to use their field.

It's official the Riverside MGFM Super 20 team will play this summer in the USL Super 20 league.
This is a big opportunity for our college players to keep playing during the summer competing with other college players from the Southern California soccer community.
The LA Galaxy has a Super 20 team made up of players from the US National U18/U20 teams and players from UCLA and UC Irvine teams. It's going to be very interesting but football, excuse me soccer is a funny and cruel game especially as underdogs go.
So, come out and support your local team when we play at home. Schedules will be out soon. We hope to play our home games at AB Brown Soccer Complex pending approval by AYSO board. !

Girls U-18 "Starz" Finish Second Place at Desert United Cactus Cup!

Mar. 2008 BU18 Update!
After returning from high school season and playing inconsistenly in the Las Vegas Silver State Invitational, 2 weeks ago they began the Far West Region league by playing two very difficult but intelligent soccer matches in Lancaster last weekend.
The boys won 2 games against premier teams. They beat South Coast Bayern of Coast Premier League 3-0. Then they again upset New Mexico Nike Rush Premier (New Mexico State U17 Champions last year) 2-0. They however, lost 3-2 to Pateadores another premier team from Coast Soccer League in a very hard fought game. We missed several good chances to tie the game.
The boys are on to the Toyota College Showcase this weekend in Temecula.
Good job and good luck as they prepare for the Nationals next month.

MGFM BU-17 "Fusion" qualifies for the US Club Soccer Nationals as Co-Champions of B17 Premier !
After a strong showing at the US Club Soccer Region F in San Bernardino 2 weeks ago with a record of 3-0-1 the team got invited to play in the finals of the US Club Soccer Nationals to be held at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend, July 21-24
The boys are very excited because this tournament is held in conjuction with the Score at the Shore College Showcase, one of the largest showcases in the country. Congratulations boys and good luck !

Brandon Staples signs with Cal Baptist University.
Congratulations to Brandon Staples, our first MGFM graduate to accept scholarship money to play soccer at a university. We are very proud of his accomplishment on and off the field. Brandon is one of four players who graduated from our B-U17 team. I saw him play recently at a Cal Baptist game and was very impressed of his contribution. The coach is very pleased about his skill level and fitness. Goodluck Brandon.Other graduates; Eddie Elizondo, Matt Gutierrez and Brandon Finister are playing at Victor Valley College.The majority of this team graduates this year and we will see more players signing for scholarship money to play soccer.Congratulations and goodluck boys.
Riverside MGFM Goes to Europe (update)
SUCCESS IN EUROPE...CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS U17/U19 TEAM FOR BEING FINALISTS IN THE CARPATHIAN CUP!
They are due home with in just a few days & will have lots of stories to tell; one of the best being that they were finalists in the Carpathian Cup. This is a week-long tournament, which has become a prestigious event, serving as a launching pad for young American players into the professional level.The boys spent the first 20 days of their trip training in Romania at the Onesti Stadium. The last 9 days of their trip are spent in Brussels, Belgium. They have endured 5-6 hours of training per day; sprints up Perchiu Hill, drills on speed, agility, flexibility, rhythm, coordination, crossing, finishing, dribbling with speed, changing pace, & reading the game quicker.The weekend trips have been welcomed by the boys for some rest & relaxation. Among the places they visited were Dracula's Castle, Palese Palace, and, believe it or not, MCDONALD's!!

"MGFM BU-17 sends shockwaves to the Nomads in San Diego."
Even with some of their national team players in the lineup, MGFM BU-17 beat Nomads BU-17 2-1 in the qualifying rounds. They went 4 and 0 in the qualifying rounds but lost in the finals to a fortified Nomads 4-0 in the finals. It was very evident that fatigue played a major factor in the rematch because the game was scoreless until late part of the first half when they scored their first goal.

Nobody was happier to be there than Franklin Gbenedio, whose Riverside Mean Green Fighting Machine Fusion rallied to beat respected SoCal United, 3-2, on goals by Evan Cook, of Menifee Paloma Valley, Kody Peterson, of Woodcrest Christian, and Esiri Gbenedio, of Riverside Poly.
"We're here to expose our kids to college players and coaches," Gbenedio said. "This was a big win for us. Three weeks ago, our boys won a tournament in Las Vegas. They're gaining confidence. And this is a great experience for all of them."

Brandon Staples signs with Cal Baptist University.
Congratulations to Brandon Staples, our first MGFM graduate to accept scholarship money to play soccer at a university. We are very proud of his accomplishment on and off the field. Brandon is one of four players who graduated from our B-U17 team. I saw him play recently at a Cal Baptist game and was very impressed of his contribution. The coach is very pleased about his skill level and fitness. Goodluck Brandon.Other graduates; Eddie Elizondo, Matt Gutierrez and Brandon Finister are playing at Victor Valley College.The majority of this team graduates this year and we will see more players signing for scholarship money to play soccer.Congratulations and goodluck boys.

SUCCESS IN EUROPE...CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS U17/U19 TEAM FOR BEING FINALISTS IN THE CARPATHIAN CUP!
They are due home with in just a few days & will have lots of stories to tell; one of the best being that they were finalists in the Carpathian Cup. This is a week-long tournament, which has become a prestigious event, serving as a launching pad for young American players into the professional level.The boys spent the first 20 days of their trip training in Romania at the Onesti Stadium. The last 9 days of their trip are spent in Brussels, Belgium. They have endured 5-6 hours of training per day; sprints up Perchiu Hill, drills on speed, agility, flexibility, rhythm, coordination, crossing, finishing, dribbling with speed, changing pace, & reading the game quicker.The weekend trips have been welcomed by the boys for some rest & relaxation. Among the places they visited were Dracula's Castle, Palese Palace, and, believe it or not, MCDONALD's!!

"MGFM BU-17 sends shockwaves to the Nomads in San Diego."
Even with some of their national team players in the lineup, MGFM BU-17 beat Nomads BU-17 2-1 in the qualifying rounds. They went 4 and 0 in the qualifying rounds but lost in the finals to a fortified Nomads 4-0 in the finals. It was very evident that fatigue played a major factor in the rematch because the game was scoreless until late part of the first half when they scored their first goal.

Nobody was happier to be there than Franklin Gbenedio, whose Riverside Mean Green Fighting Machine Fusion rallied to beat respected SoCal United, 3-2, on goals by Evan Cook, of Menifee Paloma Valley, Kody Peterson, of Woodcrest Christian, and Esiri Gbenedio, of Riverside Poly.
"We're here to expose our kids to college players and coaches," Gbenedio said. "This was a big win for us. Three weeks ago, our boys won a tournament in Las Vegas. They're gaining confidence. And this is a great experience for all of them."

After a strong showing at the US Club Soccer Region F in San Bernardino 2 weeks ago with a record of 3-0-1 the team got invited to play in the finals of the US Club Soccer Nationals to be held at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend, July 21-24

Congratulations to Brandon Staples, our first MGFM graduate to accept scholarship money to play soccer at a university. We are very proud of his accomplishment on and off the field. Brandon is one of four players who graduated from our B-U17 team. I saw him play recently at a Cal Baptist game and was very impressed of his contribution. The coach is very pleased about his skill level and fitness. Goodluck Brandon.Other graduates; Eddie Elizondo, Matt Gutierrez and Brandon Finister are playing at Victor Valley College.The majority of this team graduates this year and we will see more players signing for scholarship money to play soccer.Congratulations and goodluck boys.
Riverside MGFM Goes to Europe (update)
SUCCESS IN EUROPE...CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS U17/U19 TEAM FOR BEING FINALISTS IN THE CARPATHIAN CUP!They are due home with in just a few days & will have lots of stories to tell; one of the best being that they were finalists in the Carpathian Cup. This is a week-long tournament, which has become a prestigious event, serving as a launching pad for young American players into the professional level.The boys spent the first 20 days of their trip training in Romania at the Onesti Stadium. The last 9 days of their trip are spent in Brussels, Belgium. They have endured 5-6 hours of training per day; sprints up Perchiu Hill, drills on speed, agility, flexibility, rhythm, coordination, crossing, finishing, dribbling with speed, changing pace, & reading the game quicker.The weekend trips have been welcomed by the boys for some rest & relaxation. Among the places they visited were Dracula's Castle, Palese Palace, and, believe it or not, MCDONALD's!!

"MGFM BU-17 sends shockwaves to the Nomads in San Diego."
Even with some of their national team players in the lineup, MGFM BU-17 beat Nomads BU-17 2-1 in the qualifying rounds. They went 4 and 0 in the qualifying rounds but lost in the finals to a fortified Nomads 4-0 in the finals. It was very evident that fatigue played a major factor in the rematch because the game was scoreless until late part of the first half when they scored their first goal.Congratulations boys!
April. 2005Congrats to the Boys U17 team for their showing at the College Classic.

Nobody was happier to be there than Franklin Gbenedio, whose Riverside Mean Green Fighting Machine Fusion rallied to beat respected SoCal United, 3-2, on goals by Evan Cook, of Menifee Paloma Valley, Kody Peterson, of Woodcrest Christian, and Esiri Gbenedio, of Riverside Poly.
"We're here to expose our kids to college players and coaches," Gbenedio said. "This was a big win for us. Three weeks ago, our boys won a tournament in Las Vegas. They're gaining confidence. And this is a great experience for all of them."
